Lesley AlterShe/Her

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received my Master’s of Social Services at Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research in 1988. I moved to Portland in 1991 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 1992. I work with adults and older adults.

Everybody has a story. Often our stories about ourselves and others are formulated when we are very young, trying to make sense of what is going on around us. Those stories are often untrue. However, the negative narrative continues into adulthood. I use therapy approaches and techniques that help clients reauthor a different story, a true story about themselves, others and events that might have occurred. When this healing process occurs, I am inspired as a witness to my clients’ transformation as they take steps from struggle to healing. I have two adult sons and enjoy hiking, biking, music, connecting with friends, movies and yoga. I love to laugh and value the need for art and creativity in my life.

Licensed in Oregon.

Teletherapy and in person.
